Less is More
Our athletes are busy working full time, running their businesses or running around with their children. Most endurance or strength programs thrive off of adding volume and yet, another day of training. Bold Summit Coaching takes the opposite approach, we believe our athletes thrive with a less is more training plan. Here’s a glimpse of our Bold Summit Framework with our less is more approach. Aka, this is what we do before we add more volume or increase intensity with all of our athletes.
Quality Execution - Before we add more to training plan, we want to make sure that athletes understand how to execute a training plan correctly. With athletes we often see that they push too hard on easy days and fall in a moderate effort too often. What does this look like? Running your easy run too fast, doing 3×10 for majority of your lifts and thinking that you can do HIT work more than 3x a week.
Complete Assessments - In order for you to move foward in your performance and health, you have to be aware of where you stand currently. We use assessments to identify what your current aerobic capacity is, your muscular strength and weaknesses, CO2 capacity, coordination and balance is. Simply put, we can’t chart a plan for you to climb your summit if we don’t know where you are in your journey now. If we can identify what we need to work on, we can pick variables to improve on to move you towards your goal faster.
Utilize Warmups - We plug in your DPT exercises and flagged movements from your FMS, RRA or gait analysis to improve your strength, performance efficiency, movement patterns, longevity factors and areas that need more attention.
Movement Based Programs - A good lifting program is a movement based program, not a body building style workout that takes forever and translates less to life in general.
Macros and Fueling - Maybe you’re putting in the work, but you can only train as hard as you can recover. Food is the number one tool for recovery and encouraging lead body mass. Why increase volume and intensity of an athletes fueling is way off?
These are just a few ways that we improve performance without adding more training volume or intensity. This is why we incentivize athletes to work with us for the long term wins, not just a shorter race build.
Happy Training, Diana
